Jesus Is Calling You
What in your life brings you hope and peace? It might seem like there isn't much to be hopeful for here on Earth nowadays, but there is still something that you can find hope in. Long ago, God sent his Son, Jesus, to become a human and be sacrificed for the sins of the world. He was crucified and buried in a tomb, but rose from the grave three days later. This defiance of death itself is the true reason why we celebrate Easter.
The Bible tells us that Jesus' death and resurrection were not simply a testament to God's power, but were showcasing God's love for His creation. We are all sinners. No matter what our background is or if we go to church every week, we can't outrun our sin. If we accept God's love and believe in Jesus, we are able to be forgiven and pursue a life eternally with our creator.
The Bible says, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16) Jesus died for the sins of the world so that we can have hope and life through him. Believing in Him is the only way we can receive forgiveness.
"Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?” (John 11:25-26)
Jesus explains that our imperfections and sin are wiped clean simply through believing in his crucifixion and conquering of death. When we pray and repent of our sins, the Holy Spirit comes into us, and we are made righteous through Him alone.
This is how we are able to connect with our Heavenly Father.
God — who created you and knows you better than anyone — loves you more than anyone else. You can make the choice today to accept Him into your heart and repent of your sins.
“Dear God, your Word and my own life shows me to be a sinner. But I want more than what the world has to offer. I want to follow Jesus and I believe He died for me and rose again. Please forgive me for what I’ve done wrong and give me eternal life in your name alone. Amen.”
The Bible tells us that, “By faith we have been made acceptable to God. And now, thanks to our Lord Jesus Christ, we have peace with God.“ (Romans 5:1)
